Ceramics and electrical components
125cm wide

This is a segmented, self-firing piece. It includes ten individual self-firing components housed inside of a helical frame. The ten coils were fired sequentially, one after another, over a period of about 8 hours. During that time lighting conditions in the gallery changed - the room went from sunlit to dark - meaning that the light emitted by the work had completely different qualities depending on the time of day.
