Cerve
Cerve (2003) was an exhibition at Eastern Edge Gallery in St. John's, Newfoundland. The subject of the exhibition was the human figure (and by extension the human condition) rendered as a mechanical object. Cerve is a word that I invented to describe this exhibition. In addition to being an anatomical reference (cervix, cerveau), it is a variation on the verb "to serve", which asks questions about purpose, self-determination and fatalism.
