Shards is a durational performance and series of site-specific temporary ceramic installations. During the summer of 2013 I traveled extensively throughout Newfoundland visiting abandoned communities. In these places I scoured the beaches searching for pieces of broken pottery which I used to build in situ piles, lines, and other arrangements. I stayed wth these works for some time, documenting how they changed from their exposure the the waves, wind, tides and rain. Like several of my other projects Shards became as much an anthropological and historical study as it was a art project. Visit the project blog for extensive images and writing.
